Presentation materials for the mini-lessons on the history of the Bible, translation, interpretation, and application can be downloaded using the links at the bottom of the page. NOTE: Master the Basics tools are designed for use by small group leaders or a study leader in a one-on- one setting. The order for completing the study types and min-lessons is flexible but there is a recommended order to follow. If you have never gone through Master the Basics or if you have never lead a group, contact us by phone or email, and we can help you get started.

Master the Basics

MASTER THE BASICS is a Bible study resource and set of tools designed to;

• Equip you to study the Bible
• Answer some of the most common questions about the Bible
• Provide basic principles for interpreting and applying the Bible
• Provide tools and a simple process for you to pass on what you learn to others

You will learn five fundamental study approaches that will enable you to study a book of the Bible, a specific verse, a person, a topic, or the answer to a question – whatever you are interested in studying.  Brief lessons on the history of the Bible give you insight into who wrote the Bible, how was it written, who put the books of the Bible together and how they decided.  Mini-lessons on translation and the most fundamental principles for interpreting and applying the Bible will give you the confidence to know you “…correctly handle the word of truth.”  (ref:  2 Timothy 2:15 NIV)

Small group and discipleship friendly

MASTER THE BASICS is designed for small group leaders and one on one discipleship.  Here are some features of the features of MASTER THE BASICS tools;

• There is a “best sequence” to completing the five types of studies and the mini-lessons.
• Completing the five different types of studies and the min-lessons will typically take 6 to 10 weeks, depending on the size and interaction of the group.
• Study guides, worksheets, and leader notes can be downloaded directly from the website.
• All mini-lessons are available for download in Powerpoint or Google Sheets
• Mini-lessons range in length from just a 3 to 12 minutes.
• Mini-lessons are intended to be used by leaders who have been through MASTER THE BASICS or by someone who has been through a Leader’s Training or Trainer the Trainer event.

Leader training can be provided free of charge

Our goal is for everyone to be able to study God’s Word and discover how it applies to everyday life and circumstances, from family and friends to career and calling.

We work to provide leader training and Train the Trainer events at no charge to your small group, church, or ministry.  Individual training can often be completed by video conference or telephone.  We also sponsor leader training and “Train the Trainer” events for campus campus ministry groups, churches, and other organizations.  There is no charge for a trainer to lead your event.  Your group may be asked to cover the cost of travel and comfortable accommodations if necessary.
